Tenn.Jer: Jerry, the truth is that I have the 400mm f2.8 mounted to a Jobu gimbal head, as the lens alone weighs in at 12 pounds. I do use it with a RRS tilt head on a monopod when I have taken it deep in the woodlands. Hand-holding it for perched birds was not an option after less than an hour...
A couple from today with the FD400mm f2.8L.
