Re: $3500 seriously ?

The 5DIII ain\'t cheap, with the grip it will come to $4,000 + sales tax where applicable, which is a pile of money, however, this is the first prosumer dSLR by Canon which emulates the new 1D specs quite nicely. Therefore, I can see why Canon would set its introductory price to $3,500.

OK, it\'s \"only\" 6 FPS, but unless you are into fast sports or fast wildlife action, your results will probably not suffer much by not having 8 or 10 FPS.

Furthermore, 5DMkIII can not AF at f/8, but no Canon prosumer dSLR ever could. Besides, very few people use f/8 combo anyways, so that \"deficiency\" is largely irrelevant in the big market picture. However, if f/8 is crucial to your photography, then you may wish to turn your energies and attention to cameras like 1DsMkIII, 1DMkIV etc. It\'s not like you\'ve got no other options left.

If you do not require a state of the art AF system, then why on earth don\'t you keep your 5D MkII ? Why even concern yourself with a camera such as 5DIII which would cause you to pay big bucks for features you do not require ?

5DMkII doesn\'t have enough Mp for you ? That must be really tough having to compromise on a puny 22 MP body. However, not the end of the world either......there is Nikon D800, Pentax 645, etc.....lottsa options again available to you.
