I can see why IS would be useful for some. As I rarely shoot subjects that aren\'t static I don\'t have a lot of use for IS at shorter focal lengths. Cheaper non IS versions is what I\'d like to see. I would\'ve been interested in a Canon 17-55 f2.8 non IS back when I had a crop.
