Beautiful lens in excellent condition. Purchased in Spring 2011 from B&H Photo, less than one year ago. The lens has seen very little use and has always been well cared for. Functions perfectly with smooth focusing and accurate autofocus confirmation.
Comes with all the original caps, metal lens hood, papers, and box.
Fully compatible with Canon EOS bodies -- all metering and auto aperture. Only difference is manual focusing.
In the interest of full disclosure -- there is one nearly microscopic mark in the coating on the side of the front element (probably got nicked by the metal lens hood) -- not visible in photos and doesn't affect image quality in any way. Otherwise the lens is like in outstanding condition, and I have no qualms using it under the most demanding lighting.
You will love this lens -- it provides great pictures with the famous Zeiss color and contrast.

Fantastic lens -- great color, sharpness and contrast. I've posted plenty of images with this lens! Made in 1994, and still in terrific condition, barring a few external paint scuffs (mainly to the tripod ring) -- I'm listing it as a "9" because considering the glass and perfect operation, I think the marks on the barrel should be accepted for such a heavy, large lens. Controls work perfectly, and I'm only selling because I upgraded to the more versatile (and expensive!) 28-300L. Otherwise, I'd be keeping this beauty. Glass is terrific, exposures are perfect.
