Re: Pics OF the NEX-7 with Red Artist and Artisan Strap

I\'ve received mine, and have done just a few tests to get to know it. It\'s gloomy and gray here, and I haven\'t really had a chance to shoot anything meaningful.

Love the handling, love the viewfinder, love the ability to toggle the magnification on/off with a press of my right thumb while holding the camera to my eye. Love the integrated flash, which bounces really well, and triggers an optical slave nicely (once I get an adapter, I\'ll put a radio trigger on the hot shoe).

I\'m relieved to see that the 16/2.8 and kit zoom both get along with it pretty well, and are largely consistent with results on the 5n. I know the 16/2.8 isn\'t exactly well loved, but I like it, and find it very useful. I don\'t see any sharpness problems beyond those on the 5n, and if there\'s any color shift, it\'s very slight. For fast and light wide angle, it still works (yes, you\'ll still want to lose the far corners, but with 24mp, there\'s cropping room to spare).

The increased detail of this sensor up to ISO 400 seems pretty clear to me. From there, it probably levels out with the 5n. Practically speaking, the ergonomic improvements (especially the ability to properly brace it against my face) will make it at least as good in low light, and probably superior.

A couple of throwaway shots below with a 50/1.4 FDn, probably between f/2.8 and f/4, followed by 100% crops, with minimal processing. With good lenses, this thing should deliver.
