Re: Client contract rewrite!

Nobody like someone like an attorney to come in and amend your contract, after all your attorney wrote it to be in your favor and he / she wants to redo it in their favor. Other than the copyright grab what else can\'t you live with? Why do they want copyright?
Many photographers say \"my way or the highway\" and if clients have any questions, requests for changes, issues with contracts they are bitches, or bridezillas or crazy. Don\'t take it personally, it\'s a lawyer doing their thing. He saw some holes in your contract (like what kind of entity is Brian Virts Photography) and it might be beneficial to correct that.
To me it sounds like they want to be sure they get the pix, be sure that there is a plan B if you can\'t shoot the wedding, and concerns about liability and indemnification.

If you want to shoot the gig, and the other changes aren\'t dealbreakers, make a counter offer regarding copyright transfer. Principle aside, what are the pictures worth to you? What are they worth to the client?
