Yep, in terms of sensor performance the K-x utterly stomps all over the K-7 (and K20D). The K-x was where Pentax switched back to Sony sensors from the Samsung sensor used in the K20D and K-7 and the benefits of Sony\'s far better sensor technology immediately became apparent.
Quite frankly the K-5 is merely a K-7 with a Sony sensor and a little speed added.
Note aside from DR, the K-7 does perform very well at low ISO\'s, it\'s only really weak once the ISO range starts heading upwards.
