Similar situation with Nikon and probably others. The D7000 has better dynamic range than the D300s, D3 and D3x (slightly). I assume the D4 will be better. You have to pick and choose the features that are important. We are still in a situation where sensor imporvements are coming faster than the traditional product cycle times so you end up with situations like this where the \"Better camera\" is not so simple a choice. I am interested in Landscapes so for me the best Nikon available is the $1200 D7000 and not the $$$ D3x
