Imagine if Canon had put a new AF in the 5D that proved to be fiasco like the 1D3. What then? The 2 new top cameras from Canon with poor AF ? Now that would be something that would hurt them hard. I believe they played it safe and got away with it. The 5D2 sold really really well and still does. It is a great camera.
Now with 1D4 AF proving to be good, 1DX on the merge of appearance and 7D AF a very good success ...they have everything to put out a beast of a 5D3 or 3D or 5DX, whatever you want to call it , it is the 5D2 successor : a compact FF.
For me....i just want an even better sensor with a just as good centre point
Seems like they just could of delayed the release of the 5D2 until they got the bugs worked out. I\'m not buying that excuse.
