Well, ever since the 7D was announced, many people have been asking for a FF version of the 7D.
By the look of things, Canon will be giving us just that.
I keep wondering about the number of megapixels, though.
If Canon decides to reuse the 18mp 1DX sensor, how many fps will they allow on the 5DIII?
The 7D can already do 8fps with 18mp, so why should the 5DIII be less capable?
As for the D800: 36mp might seem spectacular on paper but it\'s not all that useful in practice, IMO.
So, an 18mp/8fps 5DIII may turn out to be much more sought after than a 36mp/4fps D800.
Well D800 rumors are 4fps FF 36MP gripless/gripped and 6fps with grip at 16MP APS-C and improved top level AF, which gets just enough to be semi-ok if not great for action with nice reach for sports/wildlife and great detail for landscape/studio.
So 18mp 8fps is nice but not the detail for landscapes and not the reach for birds.
Might 8fps not be too close to 1DX though? Many serious pros can live with 8fps, but not 6.3fps. If it has 8fps then I bet the AF is not a trace better than 7D.
