Voila! f1.5 (or something like that) which gives the best of both worlds between f1.2 and f2 on the Rokkor 58/1.2

Tip: Do not make the notch too deep and/or too wide, otherwise the ball bearing will tend to get stuck in the notch and possibly lock up. Even a narrow, shallow notch will be easy enough to feel and will provide plenty of resistance to hold the blades at that aperture. Less is more. A bit of grease on the ball is a good idea, too.
