Hi, Herb. I just saw these nice pics on another forum with the Leica 35 Summicron Asph, and it looks like color shift is pretty noticeable. I have no idea about detail at the edges, as it is tough to tell from these small images. The Summicron may not be safe. Do you have any pics from the Summilux? Thanks! link to summicron on nex-7 pics

Douglasf13, sofar we can conclude that the 35 mm is a tipping point for color fringing and softening on the Nex camera\'s. The Nex 5n is doing better than the Nex 7. Some 35 mm work ok, others show already problems. You reported already issues with the 35 Biogon and now the 35 Summicron. My Voigtländer 35 Nokton f/1.2 mk2 works perfect. And I have seen good shots of the new Summilux 35 ASPH that was good from around f/2.8 and up on the Nex 7.
Unfortunately I have no Summilux at hand to provide any insight myself with pictures.

Sofar the only small lens I have seen and used, wider than 35 mm, that works good on the Nex 7 is the Sony E ZA 24. I hope that Sony will be pushed a little by Fuji and that it will bring some more classy primes to the market like an 18 and a 35. I have some reservations about the E ZA 24 but is an incredible versatile a very high resolution lens on the Nex 7.

One small but very important topic is the adapter we use. This can give a lot of issues with the lenses we try to test. Sofar the only really good M-mount to E-mount adapter I have used is the one from Voigtländer. Even the Novoflex has had some issues scew. And all the Chinese adapters wear very easy in regular use. A $2000 lens can be easily spoiled by a $20 adapter.
