WOW ebay/paypal situation I was involved in appears to be headed towards a fix
Oh and as for him calling me out for being such a #$# for having suggested early on that he might be trying to scam me and for bothering him about the whole affair, listen to this:
Looking at one of the earliest msgs he sent me I see where he tells me that he is going to the postal annex where he has his stuff shipped to and that the item better be there or he would file a complaint with ebay and paypal [short version: he files a complaint later that night on 12/22/11 and yet on 1/1/12 admits he never actually checked his box for the first time until 12/31/11!].
Later that night [this is all 12/22/11] he tells me that I have his money and he has no item and he needs it for a shoot before the first of the year and that only I could have re-routed the shipment. A few minutes later he tells me he is in a position to have the FBI and police easily come after me and I better return his money right away and offer a refund or his item better show up in his box very soon. I better watch out. I better think of refunding him fast or it better show soon.
This is the last I ever hear from him again until late on 1/1/12 (other than his complaint to paypal where he says I\'m a scammer or perhaps the post office messed up and he needs his item and he wants nothing to do with this and he wants his money back regardless and that it is between me and the USPS at best and that I had a lot of audacity to re-route his package to TN and to dare to suggest that maybe he had.)
Anyway, I was like what do you mean you don\'t have the item? Are you scamming me after all? I ask him if he actually did look in his drop box as he implied or not.
I also said that I was not scamming him and as for the authorities that he is the only one the police would be coming after and he better not be some scamming Christmas grinch but that if he is telling the truth then I\'m very sorry for all the hassle and truly apologize for any implications and that I would need to go after the post office and ask him to just please tell me whether he really had looked in his box already as he strongly implied he had so I would know what to do next.
I then googled him and told him he looked legit but that googled flagged one of the sites that he had a profile on as being unsafe and suggested that he might check to see if he had been hacked before using paypal again and to get back to me so we can find out what is going on before it is too late since it could be very bad for both of us if he had been hacked.
I then noticed, very late that night, that he had already filed a complaint me against me. I tell paypal that if anyone is the scammer it is he.
The next day (12/23/11) I contact the Sparta, TN post office. They tell me that it went to SD and to ignore the main sticker, the insurance tracking proves it, etc. I felt a bit relieved. I inform payapl and the buyer.
I tell him to please look in his box since the post office said to ignore the main tracking and that they had proof it was there waiting for him. I asked him to please get back to me ASAP. I told him that I knew I wasn\'t scamming him and that I hoped he actually hadn\'t checked his box yet and it was all just a big a stupid mix up and I was sorry for the weird tracking mess up by the USPS.
nothing.
I give him until 12/29/11 and then ask him again to get back to me on whether he actually ever looked or not, what is going on, my account is locked and I\'m starting to get annoyed and even slightly worried again.
Then he finally gets back to me very late on 1/1/12 after I start texting him and posting his ebay ID here and warning people about how is a scammer after I freak out when paypal tells me they closed the case against me and had refunded his money.
He tells me that the USPS \'finally\' delivered it to him and he had picked it up yesterday (finally as in 11 days ago and in his next message he admits he actually only looked for the first time on 12/31/11 so there was no \"finally\" about it at all!) and then as I said in the last post above gets all over me while at the same time offering a me a bit of help.
