Yes, this has always been my feeling. Unfortunately and to my frustration, they just had decided not to participate in the consumer photo market for several years now. Their old model of camera bodies for Nikon mount (S2, S3, S5 pro) was not profitable (no lens sales), and I guess they may have just waited for their new sensor technology to be ready for commercial release, which I hope will be now.
Do not know enough about their intentions really, but I am sure that if they get serious, we may see exciting new cameras and lenses by them.
