FS: Nikon to Canon adapter for Nikon 14-24 F2.8

Item 1: Canon adapter for use on 5Dii, 1DsIII/IV etc with Nikon lenses.

$140 for the adapter. Made by 16:9 - it is for "G" type Nikon lenses to be used on Canon digital bodies. One loses AF and metering but if you can work manually on a Canon body you will have no problems.

This is version 2 of the adapter - see description here:

http://www.16-9.net/nikon_g/

Purchase price includes Paypal fees and shipping costs for standard UPS/USPS - to continental USA only. Shipping to foreign countries and Hawaii/Alaska is additional.

Here are some images in IR from Central Park - a few in this folder were taken with the 14-24 Nikkor on a converted (to IR) Canon 5Dii body - using this adapter:

http://photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=637107
========================
A description of Version 2 of the adapter from the web site (16:9) linked to above:

"The V2 was more complicated, much more robust and far nicer to use, but also more expensive and again bedevilled by supply problems involving manufacturers in three (sometimes four) different countries, and time-consuming local production. We couldn't make them fast enough to keep pace with demand, and waiting times were long."

"So we approached Novoflex in Germany (who we believe make the world's finest adapters) with a view to manufacturing the V2 entirely bespoke, from the ground up, and so the V3 was born. Version 3 is everything we wanted from the adapter in the beginning: not least: no more supply problems, no more time consuming modifications, no more waiting lists. And we were able to improve machining quality still further, provide a more easily understood scale for aperture control, seamless backward compatibility with Nikon F lenses, and minimize needed lens modification."

Version 2 is pretty much identical to Version 3... (my words not theirs just to be clear); there had to be a Version 3 because the product was sold to a large company (Novoflex)

Photos: any specks/marks or whatever you see are dust/highlights (from overhead lights) - The lens is in almost mint condition (glass is mint mint). I say almost mint (body) because for the truly picky-picky person - he (she) might be able to find an ever so slight mark somewhere - but again, I don't see any such mark...

I am selling the lens because if I need a superwide landscape shot, I am doing panoramic photography via stitching - and in that realm, any lens will do since I am shooting with the best section (center) of the lens - and the software is cropping the edges...And for my IR images on a modified 5Dii, where this Nikkor lens is indeed wonderful, I find the 17-40 F4 Canon is great in IR. IR photography is just a bit softer than daylight photography - so I am less inclined to worry about the great quality the Nikkor affords. Finally in the 14-15mm range, no lens is superb - the Nikon just happens to be the best of all that are out there...

Item 1: Nikon 14-24 F2.8 USA model with Canon adapter for use on 5Dii; 1DsIII/IV etc.

Original owner; sale includes box, papers, lens caps, soft case etc - everything the lens came with when new.

Mint glass; perhaps body has a tiny mark - but I don't see one - so I will call the body mint-minus, since I have used it in the field on a tripod, mostly for landscapes and IR photography.

Would prefer to sell to a Canon person because I will include the adapter that allows you to adjust F-stops - these go for about $200 new.

$1600 for lens and adapter; OR $1475 for just the lens and $160 for the adapter.

includes Paypal fees but not shipping costs ($20) for standard UPS/USPS - to continental USA only. Shipping to foreign countries and Hawaii/Alaska is additional.

Here are some images in IR from Central Park - a few in this folder were taken with the 14-24 Nikkor on a converted (to IR) Canon 5Dii body:

FS: Nikon 14-24 F2.8 USA model with Canon adapter
