Current AF-S VR telephotos 400/2.8, 500/4 & 600/4 have VR (I) technology. They do not have VR II. They were released before this improvement (in August 2007) that appeared with AF-S 300/2.8 VR II in late 2009. Then, Nikon released the 200-400/4 & the 200/2 upgrades.
So, maybe 2012 will see the 400, 500 & 600 upgrades with VR II technology? Time will see...
