stocks
of course it depends, someone who enters at a high point and then has the next thirty years with all sorts of crazy events occurring might have a tough time at that
and for all the talk about how bad stocks are now, it depends what the starting point is
NASDAQ index is like 17% a year over three years and DOW is like 12% a year and S&P like 11% a year annualized over the last three years, I think i\'m at like 22% for that, however, it does depend when you start, there was that nasty mess just before then and not much before was about when I started, so since inception i\'m currently at like 7% annualized not 22% but if you had started exactly three years ago it shows that\'s been very, very good actually the last few year in stocks (again not saying that hs anything to do with 30 years ro what to expect or picking the right periods, etc. just countering all the talk in this thread the last few years have been super bad for stocks when they have actually done super well over exactly the last years, now over the last four though.... )
over last ten years DOW index is at around 5.5%, not to bad, but yeah not 8%

i started in 2007 and have been doing about that, despite some grievous mistakes, although granted that\'s hardly 30 years hah and it would also depends when you looked, at the moment it\'s 7% per year since inception but it\'s been higher and lower so yeah too short to really be all that meaningful to compare to 30 years and yeah it\'s a hard thing to say 30 years since as I said start at a really bad point and it could be insanely hard to do that even if many people who started maybe 7 years offset manage it, etc.
