That was from the Nikkei release, translated to english. I\'m extremely sad to say, I think the 1Ds is dead.
The 1Ds as such may be discontinued but Canon can just label that particular camera differently. \"EOS-1D Z\" comes to mind or maybe \"EOS-1D A\" dedicated to the Canon A line of years gone by . My point is, it is just a designation that can be changed as the need arises. For example, Canon 7D came out nowhere without any heredity lineage.
