I think they realize they can make the 5D and 1D the same sensor but not the 1Ds. You make that 1Ds a 48mp or 52mp camera and people are still going to flock to it for the $9000 price point.
well they sell at small fractions of any other model, very small fractions but yeah they may still make one, only the press release said they amalgamated the two into the x series so maybe not
anyway my call earlier in the night had been for (with two announced later):
a 4k vid, 45MP, 6.3fps, top AF, large body, 10 grand beast = 1DM1 MP and reach and video res beast (video might a touch of moire)
a 2k vid, 18mp, top AF, large body, 12-14fps beast, 3.5-4.5grand = 1DV speed and video quality (if \'only\' 2k beast)
a 2k vid, 24-31mp, top AF, 6.3fps, small body beast, 2.5-3.5 grand = 5D3 reasonably speed, reach, top video quality beast (if \'only\' 2k)
all FF
but wow that James actually may have gotten the 5D3 for late 2012 correct, yow
