I interpreted this to mean that there are five pairs of cross-type sensors that are sensitive to f/2.8 in both the horizontal and vertical directions. Each pair consists of a closely-spaced double set of lines, for extra AF precision. Thus a single AF spot in the viewfinder of this type is actually two cross-type AF sensors, spaced so closely together they effectively behave as one.
I agree, and it\'s great to finally see AF points that are x-type at f/5.6.
