It is a fantastic thought to use M-lenses on different sensors.
It is possible (with an M-cam, of course) with a µ4/3 (but the 2x Crop is a downfall), the NEX-system (my personal favourite) or with a Samsung NX:
But that needs a special conversion.

I seriously hope no one attempts anything like this, enough to make one sick!
Can I counter that point by saying I'd honestly find it more sickening if someone actually feels sick because another person wants to modify a product that they purchased.
As long as its a camera they bought and understand the risk, they should be able to modify it however they like. Good chance they could screw it up but if you know the risk, then more power to them.
Its just a $1000 mass produced consumer electronic product for crying out loud. It has neither feelings nor in anyway should be considered something sacred.

Hi, Lotusm50. I might be sounding like a broken record here, but I can't say enough how much I've been enjoying the Clearviewer on the NEX-5...in fact, people are probably starting to think that I work for them.

IMO, it is worth the $50 to try it out, but, of course, YMMV.
Thanks for the suggestion. I wasn't aware if the ClearViewer. Looks interesting, and the price isn't too outrageous where it's not worth trying. Of course, I can't use the hot shoe version, and I have a RRS plate permanently attached to the tripod socket. Isn't there a way to convert the flash attachment socket to a cold shoe so I can use the shoe mount version?
If you go that route, I would consider talking to the people at Clearviewer (I think the guy's name is Gary,) because they may have to make you a version that aligns with the LCD screen correctly. That might be pretty cool, and it is nice that it would shade sun from the top. The obvious downside is that the hotshoe model doesn't fold completely against the camera.
p.s. if you try it out, make sure you get the premium lens model. I hear it makes a big difference.
Just wondering - how would one use this - I mean for shutter release. Would you focus manually and then just press down once you feel the image is in focus. Does the AF sensor/point sensor still work on the Sigma or is that disabled as well - would the user simply focus with the rear lcd/manual lens and then use the Sigma as you usually would to take a picture.
My thought is to wait for future developments not only from Fuji, but from other manufacturers as well. It would be great to see an X-100 version with interchangeable lenses. Many photographers do like a retro look, but it may be only a very small percentage. I think of the Epson RD-1, which I believe, is an M-mount. How many units were sold? If Epson had produced more units, or introduced several subsequent models, how would they have sold?

I really don't understand why so many can't get their heads around the fact that some people have another way of thinking about their photography then themselves.. It is increasingly sad to see the aggressive tone from some of the newbies in here.
+1... Although I am far from FM 'Old School'. Some of the guys around here remind me of the comic book store owner on The Simpsons. At least it isn't like POTN or DPR here... Yet.
