Haven't posted in quite a while, but have continued to check in and see what others are doing. I hope to become a more active participant again, but commitments keep me very busy.

This is the atrium of the Bank of Canada building (equivalent to the U.S. Federal Reserve). I actually wanted to call this image "Oasis", but that would be confusing for anyone who hasn't stepped in here. It was snowing outside when I took this picture. In this part of the world our winters are very dry--often to the point of severe skin problems. By contrast, it was almost tropical in this atrium. Not visible in this photo is a lush indoor garden and pond--quite an escape from the harsh reality of a Canadian winter.

Thanks for looking,
Rich

Nice capture Rich. All those lines work well together (window frames, steel structure, and elevator cables). The soft light coming in during the snow storm might have been better lighting as opposed to it being sunny. Well done.

Nice shot, I'm getting dizzy looking at it though.

Thanks Mark. You're right about the soft lighting. This wall of glass faces south, and I think harsh sunlight would not have worked well.

Cheers,
Rich

Thanks Scott. I tried framing it several different ways before settling on this angle.

Rich

Thanks Norm. It was rather dizzying to take, head bent back to shoot straight up.

Cheers,
Rich

Thank-you for looking in and commenting. As I mentioned above, it took several attempts to get an angle that worked.

Cheers,
Rich

You've done very well to capture this without a pull out LCD screen and the aid of a tripod. Looks very much like one of my local banks but I had better not rant on about that

Thanks Bill. It helps to have a Sigma 12-24 on a full-frame body.

Cheers,
Rich
