I need a smaller camera with quality sensor for street work and for places/situations that I can't lug my 5DIII kit along to. In the past few weeks I have been vaccilating between the Samsung NX500 and the a6000. My preference is for the a6000 because of the EVF. My preference would be to get it with the Zeiss 16-70 lens, but as finances are a bit tight at the moment I am considering some other options:
- The Sigma 17-70 with Sony fitting. A lot cheaper, but unfortunately also bigger/heavier. I haven't found much info on the quality of this combo.
- Other 3rd party zoom lenses of a similar length Experiences are welcome.
- An adapter to use some of my canon glass. The metabones is just too expensive. I would most likely be considering something like the Yongnou or the Fotodiox. How decent is the autoexposure with these combinations and eg a canon 15-85mm EFS? For landscapes and nightwork I don't mind manually focussing, but for streetwork I need autofocus.
Since getting my A7r2 I haven't been giving my A6000 much love. Decided to take it out for a spin after the snow fell yesterday. It's a great backup camera. I'm looking forward to the new A6300 too. I take this everywhere with me in my briefcase with my 10-18, 16-70, Loxia 2/35. You can't beat the IQ and small size of this kit.
My brother and I went out to get some photos of him. He wanted head shots for a play he is trying out for and I wanted some pictures to give to my parents and grandparents. Most shot with a Canon 55mm f/1.2 FL, some with a Voigltlander 180mm f/4 SL. All on a NEX 5.

You might try the 1650 (good if stopped down at least one stop) or the 18105. Both lenses are well affordable. Or go for a rx100. I discussed the zoom question in quite a bit of detail on my blog.

Thanks Krushtel! I have bought the camera in the meantime, but due to the flu I haven't had much time to play with it.
