Several old buildings in my hometown of Pine Bluff, AR (where) have deteriorated to the point of crashing out into Main street, hence the barrels. The Hotel Pines, however, is hanging in there. Shot with the 16-50 at 16mm f/8.
took me 10 seconds to take out my camera for this shot. thankfully, he was preoccupied with the bread he's holding. No changes other than crop. Love how the SEL35F18 performs!
Great to see all the incredible work posted here recently! Glad to see this thread moving a little bit! A few images from the past couple of days, all with the Zeiss 24 1.8.
Dave, this is great. I can't stand the 'pixel peepers'! If an image is great and stands on its own, then the image is great. Some of the best photographers ever have blurry or smeared images. It is considered an art form. There are going to be many different interpretations of that art. Some good, some bad. Some I can understand, some I can't. But that is ok, and what makes this passion of ours so interesting and challenging. Good to see your work!

Thanks for this nice reply and compliment, photoomaha! I certainly like clarity and detail in photos, but I hope to never be consumed by it. Many photos that have greatly moved me over the years would likely not exist had the photographers been pixel peepers. Artistic expression can benefit from, but does not require, technical precision.
