Agreed on the A6000 being excellent. I've never been a fan of the NEX cameras, and while Fuji is still my main kit (primarily due to the lens lineup and the excellent direct controls), I really enjoy the A6000, especially with the small and excellent Sigma primes.
Best bang for buck photo gear I've used in a long time...maybe ever. There are still some areas where it lags behind my X-T1 (mainly RAW file integrity when pushed hard), but what a great capable little camera with a ton of features and really nice image quality. The NEX-6 I have is a nice camera, but still has so many infuriating things that ruin the experience for me, and the A6000 has fixed essentially all of them.
I switched from Fuji XT1 to Sony A6000 in my mirror-less setup (my main kit is Canon 5DM3) primarily due to the fact that I have a fast 2 year old toddler and it is fact in my opinion that A6000 is SUPERIOR to XT1 in terms of AF ability to track my child. There is no question in my mind on that as I've had both and I am getting consistently more keepers with the A6000. Fuji is not there yet. Another thing I like about Sony is, with external flash, you can shoot at speeds above listed Flash Xsync rate, which is incredibly important to someone who takes his family to the beach in midday sun and would like to lift harsh shadows off the face of one's child and wife at 1/500 and faster. I can do it with Sony, I cannot do it with Fuji (other than excellent X100 and X100s). To me these things make huge difference. I won't disagree with your other comments.
A couple of shots with Minolta 85 1.4G and Minolta Beercan 70-210/F4. Very fast AF with both via LA-EA2 adapter. Close crops on most

You make it very hard to resist buying the Sigma 60mm...
that is true. I bought the 50 1.8 ESS and questioning if I should keep it, or get the Sigma. I am yet to see a bad shot with Sigma and there is just someone in how that lens renders.....
Thanks. There's very minimal post work on these. The B&W conversion was using the Neopan preset from VSCO, the first shot I did some local contrast and brightness on the eyes and that's about it. It was bright because it was late morning and I had the window shade up...bright light pouring into the room from outside.
Kevin, really strong work. Love the portrait images and how you were able to use the wide angle with those. A few from our wedding yesterday. The A6000 has been a great tool, lightweight, power packed little camera! Really enjoy using it.

That is great… never heard that is possible. How does it work?
@sholt and kalainen, both you all are making a great series, I hope you consolidate what you are posting here in book form or something at the end of the summer, it is something you should both be proud of.
Great Photos. I just grabbed the 16-70 recently and hope to get the 10-18 to cover that range as well. What primes do you also carry in your kit? My ideal set up would be 10-18 f4, 16-70 f4, 24 1.8Z, 50 1.8. and maybe the 55-210 for those rare telephoto shots.
