Are you looking for ONE lens between 8-40mm (a huge range!), or a set of lenses? If you're looking for a set, I'd probably go with the Sigma 19, either the Zuiko or Rokkor 24/2.8 manual SLR lenses, and the Contax G 45 if that's not too long. It'll be tough to find anything with sharp corners wider than the 19mm without going to fairly large SLR lenses. The Voigtlander 12 has okay corners, but you'll see noticeable color shifting.
Thanks, A great help.
I was thinking a range due to the lenght and weight. I now have the Sigma 19, and 30 (equals to 28 and 45 with the crop NEX) I bought the Sigma 19 yesterday and find it good enough.
What I need now is something like a 24 where you suggested Zuiko or Rokkor. Will look into those however..
Last question: Is there any 8mm lens that is shorter then 70mm in lenght and fit the NEX5N?
I have the VCL-ECF1 Fisheye adapter on my Sony 16/2.8 kitlens but the result is not good enough. I am hunting corner sharpness, will sticth 360 airial panoramas with it.

Have you checked out the Samyang 8mm fisheye? It appears to be 65mm in length and weighs 217 grams. It's supposedly very sharp from corner to corner.
Thanks, mco_970. Excellent fall shots, especially the truck shot. I'm waiting on fall colors to turn up here as well.
Jim, as ever, great composition and handling of tones in your bike image.
sebboh, the fog makes for a dreamy forest shot. I've seen some of these from you before, and they have a great atmosphere. The image of the sign you posted a while back (if I recall correctly) was a perfect example. The sundown image from the city has great tones as well.
uhoh, dog looks very comfy on the ATV. Guess he's not going anywhere from that spot.

Thanks, yes I looked at it but the numbers looked different in my site.. http://www.scandinavianphoto.se/produkt/13061056/samyang-mf-8-3-5-fisheye-till-sony-nex
74mm and 417 grams.. strange. However I made some more tests on the rig and i might be able to fit it. Seems like a good deal to. Heard only good about it.
Thanks
Fredrik
Fredrik, you're looking at the f/3.5 version, which is different. I was referring to the newer f/2.8 version, which is smaller and appears to perform better.
The bottom one is shorter (productfacts must be wrong in the webpage) I will look into it.
Thanks!
The information on that product page is incorrect: the 8/3.5 fisheye is an SLR lens that Samyang makes in Sony Alpha mount (and also Canon & Nikon mounts). The 8/2.8 is the much smaller lens that's made for NEX e-mount. I haven't heard anything conclusive about which one is better IQ-wise. I have the 8/3.5, and it's a good lens, but certainly if I was only buying the lens for NEX, I'd get the 8/2.8.
