Thanks Taylor and Jim! I bought the adapter on Ebay, straight from the "Hawks factory" in Taiwan. It now seems that the same device can be bought from several manufacturers.

The prices are rising and I think I gave $120 for mine. But even $180 is worth it, since the build quality is great and the versatility of the camera increases a lot.

That's a big difference. I have to say, though, I kind of like the f/2 discolorization. It looks intentional, like you used a light purple grad, and works well with the overall tone.

Oh, the f/4 shifts a bit too - I just warmed up the image a bit to hide it. Honestly I thought I'd be incredibly disappointed with the 28 but it's really not bad. Once I create a colorfix profile, it'll be a non issue.

Here's another f/2 shot with the same combo:

Just started shooting the Sigmarit 19mm - another "I can't believe it's $200 and it's this good" sentiment. I think this and the Fuji XR 18mm are similar in the respect that they are way better than their detractors give them credit for and by f/8 resolution is very good out into the corners.

I think the strongest criticisms I've read on the Sigma 19mm is that it isn't quite as good as the Sigma 30mm and that 28mm isn't everyone's favorite FL.

I've found little to complain about the lens at all. Maybe some CA in the corners but the easy to remove kind.

My biggest complaint regarding both is flare - when it happens, it's ugly and hard to clean up.

That flare looks great, stop complaining!

I would be more wary if it was contrast robbing veiling flare (that didn't look cool).

Not surprising - the Hasselblad MP was designed to perform across a much larger capture area. I am sure it's just a matter of time before somebody posts the format size comparison. Either way, the Contax version looks excellent on the NEX!

Let's bring up those size comparisons No, but really, I'm wondering... since the 645 format is in fact 6 cm wide, and so is the Hassy 6x6 format... and since the lens is round, aren't in fact 645 and 6x6 lenses covering the same area, the difference being that the film in the 6x6 format cameras records the extra height that the 645 camera doesn't? Hmmm...

6x6 has a larger diagonal (8.48 cm) than 6x4.5 does (7.5 cm). The image circle the lens creates must be at least the size of that diagonal.

Corposant are these with the 19, or the 30? They look great. My biggest complaint about the 19 is the AF is pretty pokey, and feels imprecise to me. I may just need to get used to it. I also hate the delay in startup time.

Both with the 19mm at f/8.
