I cant quote your image in any normal way, but hope you dont mind me doing this since it's such a science class :-)
Here's the same moon but from the northern hemisphere. Seeing your picture I just had to put the EF 70-200L and 1.4 converter on the 5N and just shot this out from my window. This is 100% crop so given the size difference I assume yours is so too (?).
I've been trying out some Nikon lenses on the NEX-7 body. Here's one from the weekend, taken with a Nikkor 180/2.8 ED AiS, shot at f/4 and ISO 800. I know it's a pet dog shot, but you gotta admit he's a handsome guy!

here's a few crosspostings.
two panos with the 40 cron one wide open
the first one is awesome, foreground from some 100 years ago and those modern ships in the background.
I was watching it on my smartphone were it is larger than the screen and felt drawn into it, on my desktop i wished it was a bit larger.

I had the sigmarit for a month now and will sent it back to Amazon today, sharpness is great, but i prefer my G28's rendering quite a lot.

Happens to be my feeling exactly. The lens is sharp, no complaints here, but draws in a rather tedious (to my personal taste) way. Was comparing shots taken with the Sigma and a couple of older primes for about a month now; and those that come from the Sigma more often than not leave an impression as if they came from a generic kit lens (nice, sharp, no salient technical flaws, but there is some meat-and-potatoes look to them that I can't change much with processing; but maybe it's just me). At this point I somewhat regret having spent $200 on this lens. Will give it another month or two, but most likely it'll end up on sale.
I made a somewhat impulse purchase of a Canon FD 300 2.8 Fluorite (black non-L model) and have been researching the various adaptations to Canon 7D body. I'm wondering if it may be best to just get a Sony NEX-5N camera body (or other) and adaptor? Any good experiences with this or similar combo? How about with FD 1.4X or 2X extenders? For me, main initial use is for nesting birds or slower moving critters.
Is the NEX-5N the prefered, reasonably priced, alternate lens camera for such lenses these days?
Hopefully, this is appropriate for this thread. I am posting during a short break at work. I will try to delve into the body of this thead more this evening.
It's the easiest FD solution apart from an FD body. The 5N will give you great video as well, if you don't need video the C3 or F3 would be work great too.

If you're not going to get the optional EVF for the 5N, then it is the most reasonably priced option. If you're going to get the 5N plus optional EVF, the price starts to get closer to the price of a NEX 7 and you might want to consider that option.
Here's a Impatiens flower, caught late in the day today with a Micro-Nikkor 55/2.8 on my NEX-7 body. This lens hid in a drawer for years until I got a NEX camera.
