I set up a test to verify it, hence my late reply. I have problems trying to find differences in resolution… But for some reason I prefer the images from the 12… And, as I said on my first post, there's no colouring on neither on the 5N. I also seem to have a decentered 15, because one edge is much better than the other.
Although there isn't a ton, there is some shift with my CV 15 on the 5N. It is very dependent of scene and exposure, so that's why there are conflicting reports. Throw a white tissue over the lens, focus at infinity, and expose around +2EV at a few apertures. Then WB the center of the shot. That'll give you a good idea as to color shift.
Mainly for fun - an image I found when browsing a pile of left-overs from September and October - Nex-5, ISO1600, CV35/1.2, heavyhanded processing, oh well:

Mike, I really like the third from the bottom - mighty tree study.
I think some of your images can improve, perhaps a lot, by some simple curve or level adjustments.

^ Then you're looking for the Lux 24, FD or FDn 24L, or ZA 24... or the stop gap that a few people seem to be liking... Cron 28.
I have given up this battle for now and I'm focusing on a good 35, and a fast 40-50. Until Sigma or someone else wakes up and turns out a few fast wide primes I'm done pulling my hair out over it
The CV 15 is the easy choice here.
True that, the ZA 24 is the most likely contender I guess.. the lux 24 is so obscenely expensive

all your complaints will be fixed by a full frame sensor.
Hehe, I'm not sure, mine is in BGN-condition.. but yeah, a fullframe nex-9 that works with 35mm rangefinder lenses... *drool*
I could just use my 35/1.2 II and get myself a CV 75/1.8 or something and be set for life :P
Ok, don't know where to ask in order not to offend other alt forum members that are not that interested in the NEX, but did anybody try the old Contax Sonnar 85/2 on the NEX ? Thinking about getting this over a Tele-Elmarit since I could get them at about the same price.
Stefan, with that focal length, you could consider Contax G 90. Fantastic IQ, low weight and low price. But you have to live with focusing on the adapter ring. Some people live with it, like me, others not...
I had the Contax G 90, but I sold it ( together with the 28 and the adapter ). While I did not like the adapter at all, looking to the imges I still wonder if I should have kept it. I am trying to stay with M-mount and maybe do a switch to Ricoh or Fuji next year, and the old Sonnar would be adapteble to M-mount, otherwise I think I would get either the C/Y Sonnar 85/2.8 or the 90 R-Cron as being less expensive than anything in M-mount, and the 85 Sonnar is also a lightweight.

i don't have any personal experience with any of those, but you might also consider the nikkor copy of the contax sonnar in ltm mount. i believe it is supposed to have a similar look, but is cheaper and sharper? brad (freaklikeme) had one on his NEX i believe, but was unhappy with the mfd? that issue can now be fixed by the hawks adapter though. it is a rather famous lens - it helped push nikon into competition with leica and zeiss.
I have a noob question and it seems like this is the best place to ask. Maybe I am not the only one wondering?
I have a chance to grab a voigtlander Color-Skopar 35mm f/2.5 for $300. seems like a good deal. new its $409.
the one thing I am unsure about is that it is LTM mount with an M adapter. other then getting an M to NEX is there anything wrong with that or anything i should look out for?
@wfrank: no more Contax G28 please, i spent too much on lenses already
@sebboh: i like that frog
@Jacob D: nice 3D, would you mind to give us a short comment on the 40 Nokton?
