If you're shooting manual lenses, you should give S mode a try with auto ISO. When I'm not shooting in M mode, I use S, which is pretty nifty. You can set the aperture on the lens, the shutter with the camera dial, and the camera picks the ISO for you, so it's essentially like having auto ISO in manual mode.
This is what I do.
I didn't realize it will floor at 1/60 in av but that's not fast enough for the g 45..seemed like if I was changing ec, I may as well change ISO myself.
The bridge shot above is great...all the images here are humbling.

Thanks h00ligan. Below is the link of the BW conversion that I use for this photo. Then I played a bit with Tony Kuyper's Luminosity Mask Lights Triple Play action.
Thanks, Jeff! It was shot at f:5.6. With this much light available, I coudl have stopped down more, but at that distance, the ZM 18 gave me unlimited DOF, so this was not necessary. This is why I chose f:5.6 as the aperture of maximum sharpness for this lens IMHO.

Last year, I posted a shot from the same viewpoint with my NEX 5 and 35mm ZM f:2.8; the widest lens this camera would support without colour shift, a DSLR being an impossibility for this shot.
This year, 5N and ZM 18 give an altogether different (and in my view far better) perspective.
Thanks, Uhoh! When I went to Japan, in one of the camera stores, they had a brand new ZM 15 f:2.8. It sells for "only" the cost of 3 ZM 18. Imagine how much you would hate that one! Or rather, join me in hating it!
