What they should do is let you allocate the menu button as a custom button - then I would have the menu button as MF assist and the bottom button as menu which I hardly ever use. Would make the ergonomics better, although i'm used to it now.
Here's an extreme edge/corner comparison of the same lenses. Focusing was performed on the corner and was extremely difficult due to the lack of lens acuity and also because the 5N doesn't let you magnify all the way to the edge of the frame.
I just had a wander about with the 5n 28/2.8 and 5d /35L
Alas crop is still crop.
The fast cv is looking like a good option..but even stopped down I seem to be having trouble with the nex...it's probably me, I just know my 5d2 a lot better.

As a handling tip those half leather cases improve ergonomics substantially. Here the Samyang 14/2.8 almost camouflaging it but it's the grip-side that makes the difference - lifting the palm a bit above the rear ring and buttons. Does not do away with all UI glitches, but some and it look cool too.

maybe it missed it, but does anyone have shots with the sony 16 2.8? how do they like that lens?
here are two rather similar shots from the same place as the previous panorama i posted. both are taken with the sony 16mm at f/11: http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6059/6358562125_8910a6f68f_o.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6107/6351948919_a6c93d7a10_o.jpg
the lens is very good in the center at f/5.6 and the corners become usable at f/7.1. best corner sharpness is at f/11 but some center sharpness and contrast is lost by then to diffraction. i find f/2.8 and f/4 to be pretty much unusable due to the way the look of the lens changes from the center (where it is still decently sharp) to the edges where it is terrible.
