Your Rokkor stuff looks very nice! Wish there was a little more micro-contrast in those shots,
but bg blur looks great
Thanks, yes, the contrast is very weak on this lens when shooting wide open. Stopped down to even f/2 makes a world of a difference....yet loses some of the sweet bg blur
Some more of the Rokkor...all stopped down to f/2 except the last...which was shot wide open

There are zero issues with the ZM 25 f/2.8 on the NEX-5N. It is a great option that gets you close to 35mm equiv.
I'm pretty tempted by this lens myself. Reading the specs though it seem that the ZM version has a longer MFD than the ZF version which bothers me; any reason for this?

Rangefinders generally don't focus closer than .5 meters so no point designing a lens that focuses closer.
Thanks for all the photos shared here. Together with 5N and the manual lenses, they really re-ignite my interest in photography again (after laying off for almost 10years). Found myself need to re-learn the process, putting in more thought before trigger the shutter. Many photos still didn't turn out to what I expected yet though

I'm having a hard time deciding if I should wait for the 7 or get the 5n plus evf. I would think evf focusing is better than screen...but, not sure.
We can't make the decision for you, but I can tell you what I did. I decided to buy the 5N and EVF and preorder the NEX 7, thinking that I could use the 5N until the NEX 7 comes in and if I like the NEX 7 more than the 5N, either sell the 5N or keep it as a back up body for extended trips.
I don't think I'll lose too much if I decide to sell the 5N and in any event I've had the use of it all this time. You should also keep in mind that I don't think the NEX camera will put up with as much abuse as DSLR's, so if you take extended trips a back up body may be a good idea.
With the extended delay we're now facing with the 7, I'm really glad that I bought the 5N.

The ZM 25 f/2.8 plus the Hawks helicoid adapter gets you within INCHES of the object. Razor sharp, too
Yes, I run that combination too and I am very pleased.
I am with Jeff on the 5N vs 7. I got a 5N in the mean time and it seems we might have to wait for the NEX 7 due to force majeure. The 5N will be adopted by GF as it is, and they run on the same type of battery (I think) so with the one extra battery I will be fine even for extended trips.
Learning the ins and outs of the NEX with alt glass takes a little time but the learning curve is not to steep.

I did exactly the same, really like my 5N + EVF, will probably keep it, my better half loves it too,
I'll probably get the 24mm AF Zeiss for her to use on it and stick with my MF glass on NEX-7

I forgot about the Hawks adapter; thanks for reminding me of that. Can you still infinity focus with this adapter though? Never mind, I now see that it can. Quite pricey though, I think I'll just stick with my Flecktogon 35 for close-ups.
Looks like anyone looking for a 5N is going to have a hard time getting one, once supplies dries up from current stores.Apparently the flooding in Thailand has basically made the Sony factory unsalvageable.
