Cool Bill! I'm digging the lighting on this....so I have to ask, is this a self serve situation? Something like this could NEVER exist in my part of the rock....
Drive through liquor store? Awesome! I'd have to agree with Greg, wouldn't happen over here either. It'd get smashed and grabbed/ robbed etc within hours of opening..... Sad state of affairs I'm afraid.
Like Greg I'd also like to know how this store functions, i.e. how you'd use it.
Almost forgot. Love the shot too. Lighting is great!
Thank you all for your comments. You have to live in a civilized city like mine for this idea to work without hassle
What you don't see here and immediately opposite the fridges is an open fronted store with more liquor plus three or four assistants to oversee the operation. I've never heard of any problems here and it hs been operating for at least ten years. Drive your car in (you can also walk in of course) select your drink or ask an attendant for service, pay then drive away. Too easy.
This is a great photo. The concept of people movement captured by a slow shutter would be interesting, but I like it as you have posted. This image really accentuates the lighting and colorful array of bottles. Great composition with the diagonal line of the bank of fridges as it highlights the vertical lines of the bottles and frame of the units. I've not heard of a drive thru liquor stop around here. -Jamie
This is really good. I've been to one of these stores before and it's quite an unusual experience. It would have been nice to have a car in the shot I think.
I remember liquor stores/bottle shops like this in Australia. They were a great idea and very convenient but I agree, they'd never work in the States. Too tempting and easy for the bad guys.
