Jim, great tulip shots with the MD 28/2. Love the color and wide open sharpness.
These shots make me want to get out my 2 copies of this lens(MC-W and MD) and shoot some with them.
Congrats on the acquisition.

Thanks, Wayne. I am anxious to give it a whirl on some landscapes this Spring and Summer but for now am quite happy with it close in. I may end up selling my Nikon 35/1.4 because of this lens. I like to dreamy rendering of the Nikon and its extra stop, but I shoot so much close up work that its MFD is not tight enough for me...though I love what it does for portraits.
Sebboh,
The texture contrast and color contrast in that last shot are great. Fine detail in flower and yellow palette vs. blue/desat background and painterly bokeh. Great capture.

Guess I seem to like the Rokkor rendering, as I have a 28mm f2 on the way.
I'm guessing Jim Buchanan is the man to perform the conversion to EOS? http://www.jimbuchananspace.com/Camera_Services.html
My 58mm f1.2 Rokkor was already converted to EOS when I bought it, so, I didn't have to do anything to it.
I think I want the 35mm next...
Jim did the machining on my 28/2, and I have no reason to complain. Infinity and all of it. He gets my recommendation.
@sebboh, thanks for the extra info and the sample shots. I find that one of the car very interesting, it really jumps out at you, never quite seen that with a Rokkor before. The skin tones on the portrait are beautiful too. And you've shown exactly what I was curious about, the 28/2 can give lovely smooth bokeh... and yeah, smooth was the wrong word! I've used a few 58/1.2's, so I do agree, it's more 'interesting' than just liquid smooth - never been a fan of the STF for that reason.
@KatieInTexas - glad you liked them, thanks! It's a little difficult to find here in the UK, but worth the waiting for me atleast. I'm amazed at how great the flare is with yuor 24/2.8, I'm used to that aweful glare/low contrast 'blob' when shooting into the sun with film era lenses, but that's beautifully controlled - great job!
Found this thread. I have heard and seen good things here about the Minolta Rokkor 35mm f/1.8 lenses and I was wondering how much (on the low side) is the Rokkor MC 35mm f/1.8 lens worth. The lens has been used but appears in "normal" (ie, not abused) condition. Again it is the Rokkor-X MC variety and it does not come with the hood.
I'd like to pull the trigger but don't want to overpay.
They seem to be 80-135 GBP here in the UK on average, although a recent one went high at 159 GBP. Hope that's something to go by. BTW, were you looking to use on an digital or for the original SR mount?
Just thought I'd mention I'm actually looking to part with mine (ready converted to Sony/Minolta a-mount), as although I really like the lens and enjoy using it, I'm trying to keep my kit minimal and aimed almost exclusively towards weddings these days. Just send me a PM for any more info.
How much does it cost to change the mount of the MC Rokkor-X 35mm f/1.8 to M42 with focus confirmation adapter and correct EXIF? What about the Rokkor 58mm f/1.2?
