They said that because they couldn't get the item, they decided to go ahead and cancel my preorder!!!
WTF!!! my estimated delivery date was nov 14th FWIW.
Amazon is showing 4-7 weeks now. I happened to be in a local store over the weekend and overheard a comment attributed to a Nikon Rep saying 2 months before the lens will be delivered to dealers.
lets just say im on the phone with them and NOT happy at all.
because I ordered earlier and had an earlier estimated delivery date, they cancel my order because they dont have it yet.... but still keep preorders for people who ordered a few days later then my because there estimated delivery dates are later? that is complete BS
I didn't call them but my preorder still shows up on their website. They did send me a mail a few weeks back telling me they were going to cancel unless I extended my preorder which I did.

I did that as well.... One of my points of argument about why they should not have just canceled my preorder.
^thx for the link. unfortunately - and i may have this wrong - any informative exif info was stripped from those pics =/
i.e., i'd like to know what camera and ISOs he was using. and some of them look like they've been altered/tweaked in post, despite the photographer mentioning minimal sharpening.

edit: anyone who gets their greasy mitts on the new 35G and is kind enough to post 100% crops with exif info would become the best friend of a few hundred FM members.
those engagement shots are very good - but nothing that we haven't seen before from any 50 1.4 prime. Brett I look forward to you and Ryan putting it through its paces when you receive yours.
Very good indeed, but it looks like he applied significant high pass / midtone contrast sharpening in post. Nice for the pics, but not so good for evaluating the lens qualities!
