Spyro - optics are flawless

singletrack - at work, can't tell you. anybody with exif reader should be able to get it. I would guess somewhere around f/8. If you see that flare too it is obviously a design flaw. A design flaw that I am starting to see show up in my pics every day which will no doubt force me to get rid of this otherwise fine lens.

All were taken at f/8 except the last which was at f/2.8....

Moreover, specks of dust or condensation do not do that. This is typical mirror flare, with light reflections occurring between flat surfaces. The best known example is filter flare, featuring reflections between the sensor and a filter mounted in front of the lens. Similar flare is also possible without a filter, if (near)planar surfaces are present in the lens design.

Note that every lens will give rise to noticeable flare if only the contrast between the highlights and the rest of the image is high enough. Although the flare is undesirable, there is probably nothing wrong with your lens - unless they forgot to coat a few elements.

Rsolti13 - I must say the flare i see is mostly with f 2 and not with the higher f-stops.
