Love the execution and concept. The conversion gives the photo timelessness. However, I wonder if a color version with the stark contrast of the modern bright and colored photo with the old and grainy b&w military photo might add distance and power to the lost love.

Chad thanks for the comment and suggestion . . . that is great idea. I'm not sure I will have time this week to rework the photo but I'll keep that idea in mind for future photo projects.

Tough theme this week ... very nicely done ... makes you want to 'Hear the story'.

I initially took the B&W as a vintage shot of a mother / grandmother who had lost their son in the war. Chad's idea made me think more as a current shot of a woman reminiscing over the youthful days of being romanced by the young soldier ... EITHER could still invoke wanting to hear the story, excellent concept either way.

Beautiful. Not only is the meaning deep, but the composition is fabulous!
