Wow. I have to pick up a copy of that macro! Looks super sharp.
pick up a raynox 250 and a couple extension tubes also. im using 26mm. not sure of the math but im think im close to 4:1. each photo is about a 60 shot stack. lots of fun macro shooting especially when your trapped inside.
I am trying D500 and EM1.3 at the same time. Just a test shot after receiving Olympus 300 f4, what an incredible glass but finding it bit too heavy (for balancing on EM1.3)

Hi, nice shot. How fast does that Canon focus? Generally it is fast on Canon cameras, wondering how it does on m43?
Not bad, but accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. It may be the adapter (Metabones Smart) or the camera (EM10) itself but I simply do not rely on the AF.

Sounds familiar. When the 100-400PL came out, this forum was flooded with a huge number of shots that quite frankly...sucked. No feather or hair detail, often shots that I would just throw away. Consequently, I never trusted that lens and bought the Canon 100-400L plus metabones adapter instead. For the most part I love Canon 100-400L. But as everything in life there are pluses and minuses. Pluses - great range for wildlife, very sharp, easy to handhold and easy to travel with. Minuses - slow to focus and about 30% of my shots just are not in focus. Birds in flight?....I don't even take this lens out of the bag. Even when the subject is static I take maybe 2-5 more shots just to make sure that the lens is not back-focusing. Having said all that, the number of keepers that I get from the lens outweighs the negatives that I have stated (note - easy to handhold, sharp and easy for travel). But when you say AF accuracy leaves a lot to be desired, I really understand where you are coming from.
By the way right now I have and EM1.1 an EM5.2 and an EM1x. I am not sure the Canon 100-400L is better on the EM1x than the EM5.2. I think they are about the same.

It is a pity then. Still I would love to see how the same combo performs on a Panasonic G9 and EM1.2. Reason I bought EM 10.3 was its 4K video capability. Coupled with IBIS, this is certainly a unique competence, underutilized & overlooked by both community and corporate itself. Indeed, I feel Olympus is far from utilizing its core competences (IBIS and crop factor) where it would mean the most (wildlife videography & bird & macro photography). Lens offerings are either limited ( a longer & "faster" macro & tele-photo) and or not financially convincing. Indeed modern and sensibly priced 90-100mm f/1.8-2 macro & a450-500mm f/5.6-6 could fill quite many gaps.Till that day, historical and affordable masterpieces from Canon (USM Macro 100mm f/2.8 and EF 400mm f/5.6) will be used more than they were on Canon cameras!

My 100-400P/L copies were every bit as sharp as my Canon 100-400 copies. Only downside to P/L was inability to take TC's.
