As I'm in the market for another VS 100-300 (again) I've started to check recent offers on Ebay worldwide.
My special interest is how many of the currently offered lenses do have the well known haze in the rear element and what serials are affected. Here's what I've found:

It seems, that serials beginning with 750*** are less affected than lower numbers.
I'd like to expand that table with more samples, so feel free to send me your lens's serial (as PM for not disturbing this thread).
Most of yours will be without haze of course, but with a larger data basis we could possibly find some rules which lenses to avoid.
I'll continue monitoring ebay for new offers of this lens and add them to the list, too.
If you see a lens offered anywhere else than Ebay, please send me a PM so I can add it to the list.
Above listing will be updated regularly.
Thanks.
Would dare to buy a 100-300 with only light haze on the rear element? Would it severely hamper IQ anyway in your experience? Like some sort of low contrast veil or something?

I wouldn't buy one with lightest sign of haze, except for spare parts. IQ is reduced significantly and risk is high that haze is getting worse after some time. The lens can not be cleaned and there are no more rear elements available.
