p.1 #1 · #406 Who dares to go for a ride?

Taken at the fair in town last saturday. Quite a hassle to take a camera bag with a tripod through massive crowds. Someone even tried to pickpocket from my bag - but not much to worry about since it's basically a fortress, all the good stuff is only accessible from the inside.

Shot at 11mm, f/5.6, 10 seconds. I had two variations of it, the other one at f/11 has better 14 point stars, but the 30 second exposure time didn't blur the people any more and I preferred the ride in this one. (Other one here)
I hope to go back later this week to try out some 2-minute+ exposures.

Thanks for watching

Thanks Rusty and Bill
I have to admit.. I didn't go in that thing, nor would I prefer to go near it... (puke risk - you know?)
The speed was insane!

I really like the idea but I must admit that the slight chop of the light circle and the wildly tilting posts bug me. I believe that a wider FL and keeping the camera level to the ground would be better IMHO.

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Thanks for the C&C Yakim. I sorta agree with the chopped off top, especially because there are some lovely intersecting lines there. I do like the "wild" perspective on the ride like this, but the posts annoyed me too...
The ride was hard to frame up though ^^ I was literally with my back against the wall, and this was as wide as I can shoot and as high as I could aim without losing the foreground. Would be lovely to be able to shoot it from higher up, but I don't think it's an option there.
Shooting level was not an option unfortunately, I wouldn't even have made it to the middle

Still, good things to consider on future occasions

Really nice shot, I agree that the rest of the top would be better. about the same what i did with my butterfly shot.
