With a 10D? that is pretty good! I suspect with the 10D, the distortion is not as much as on film...but after all, i want to it for its 24mm equi (defished of course) on my 10D so that wont be a problem. AF is slow but i guess in good lighting this wont be a problem. and it saves $150 over canon...

I seem to remember that defished it is somewhere closer to 19mm equivalent. Could be wrong though.

That's about right. Defished however the proportions are a bit different, not exactly 2:3 but a little more "panorama". So if you want your image to be exactly 2:3, you have to crop it a bit more and you end with about 21 mm (haven't measured it, just a guess).
I for one love my fish, even at 2.8 the center is quite sharp. Autofocus is not terribly fast but it is reliable and not noisy. CA is controlled well.

Thanks for the confirmation. I quite like my Canon 15mm fish; actually one of my favorite lenses to use (it is very fun) although I rarely find valid uses for a lens that wide. So I always end up taking it and rarely end up using it for "serious" stuff For some reason, my g/f really loves it; I think she just likes saying "Use the fish!".

Anyway, it is my only non-USM lens. I find it really noisy (well, in a full spin anyway). I wonder if the Sigma is that much less noisy?

Incidentally, I could find no fault with its build quality, so I am not sure where those remarks come from...

So, according to the comparison on dragtimes, the Sigma 15mm fisheye is a little less wide defished than the 12-24 - something like 21mm vs. 19+ ? I am looking for an ultrawide for my 10D. Both Sigmas seem to be getting good reviews, but where I live I can't just walk into a shop & compare... :-( Any advice which to choose? The 12-24 is a little more expensive, but requires less distortion correction judging from the pictures on dragtimes.

go for the the sigma 15mm
and get a canon 24mm 2.8 two PRIMES! are better than a zoom for the same money!...a 12-24mm is not as sharp as.......

15mm in action...................

Thanks for the advice & pics! That's my 1st choice also (the 15mm), I'm calling up my local dealer to check price. Besides, if I can ever get a 1Ds !!! I'll have a nice, fun lens!
