I get it aswell... this was while shooting outside early morning.. can't remember speeds but I was thinking it might have something to do with my 70-200 vr... are you using a vr lens whilst shooting? I will try and see if I get any flicker with vr turned off and no active mode..

I've never had this issue with incadescent sources, only flourescent.

This sounds like the lights.
See pages 54, 68 and 330 of your D3s instruction manual about Flicker reduction.
There is a menu option to help reduce the problem.

NickyB - I used the 50mm 1.4g when I filmed it was under incadescent light. I can try under CFL lighting later tonight.

hmmmmm very strange.. can you remember that video they released from the d3s of the bear being filmed under moon light.. I don't recall seeing any flicker there... I haven't tried it set to 60hz though...haven't really had the beast working properly, getting my 16-35 tomorrow!
