There's a saying in Hebrew which can be loosely translated as: "If you try to catch too many, you end up with catching none". I'm sorry but that's how I feel looking at this pic.
My original idea for this depicted a scene where a black cat walked under a ladder, dislodging it, which breaks the mirror and knocks it into the salt shaker that spills salt onto Friday the 13th. I even went to the hardware store and bought a life-size plastic owl, so the mirror could be tilted in such a way as to show the owl looking through a window. I did a google search for “common superstitions” and all of these were returned in the search. In the end, I decided to keep it simple and incorporated the three.

Your included image is very creative and well done. However, I would have LOVED to see the image you described above... THAT would have been something. .

Yakim - your opinion and feedback are important to me. I did not mean to suggest otherwise. I just realize that not everything I do will be liked by all.
RA - thanks! perhaps I can try to gather the other elements and add them, then post it as part of the thread before the deadline...at least it could be something of a conversation piece!
Greg- your original idea was something similar to what I was going to try. I couldn't figure out how to get a black cat to willingly walk through a broken mirror frame whilst under a ladder and the whole time throwing spilled salt over its shoulder.
This image rocks, imo. I love how you have the calendar backwards.Very well done!
