p.2 #2 · Cotton Carrier Side Holster vs. Spider Holster
I used the spider recently on a trip to Arizona.
most of the time i had a 7D with Grip on it with either a 10-20mm or the 24-70.
It was great when your carrying a backpack at the same time, hangs completly out of your way
The belt is a great advantage, i auctually tucked the bottom half of the belt into my pants and it still distributed the weight great. I'm not sure with 70-200 your talking about but i have the f/4 version and its a non issue even with a flash.

Thanks everyone!!! At this point I am leaning towards the CC, because it looks like it locks in place and does not wobble around as you walk. From the videos from both systems it looks like I won't be able to use it with Arca-Swiss style L bracket mounted on the camera, am I correct?
You can use it with an L style bracket no problem.
Two ways:
1. On (at least) RRS L brackets, they usually have a threaded hole on both the bottom and the side parts of the plate for a mounting to a tripod compatible stud. You can mount the CC slugs to these.
2. Mount the CC slugs to a A-S compatible plate and then you can move it to either orientation (side or bottom) or remove it as you see fit. This is what I do and have mounted the slug to a Markins clamp that originally was for the Markins Q3T. Works very well. Also shown here:
Scroll down through the FAQs until you see the one about using the CC with a tripod. There is a video.
As for not using pieces made out of Aluminum and Delrin. I hate to say it, but that is just plain silly. Delrin is incredibly tough and is more than adequate for this application. Same goes for Aluminum as noted above by sjms. If anything, the CC qualifies as overbuilt, it's very tough.
