Someone please tell me if I'm wrong - it's my understanding that a polarizer must be exposed to the light for full polarizing efficiency. The Lee filter system offers a 105mm add-on filter ring mount to place a polarizer in front of the 4x6 GND's.
Just got my standard mount Vari-ND - took some test shots inside, seems that it will vignette on the 17-40L just under 24mm and if I add on my Heliopan slim CPL (5.4mm I believe) it will vignette at 26mm.
I hope this info can be helpful to others looking at these options
Had a fader. Poor IQ. Sent it back & the supplier said they would have a better one down the road. That said to me they had issues with the current one.
Good info on the Fader. I had read variable reports so I chose not to go that route at this point. Also, uncertain on whether the Singh Ray is worth the money and whether it would cause vignetting on an 82mm like the Zeiss ZE 21.....
i stack a normal and a thin filter on my Zeiss 21. the Vari-ND will have problems and Bob Singh himself says not to use a Vari-ND on anything wider than 24mm FOV on FF. i asked him.
