Ernie, congrats on your new lens!
Is it appropriate to post Otus shots on this thread, because I post them on an Otus thread?
Thanks.
I wondered about that. I knew I'd seen one specifically for the 55, but I didn't think there was one for the 85 or for either. It is a ZE... or isn't it? (I don't have the box handy.)
Just got a new Nikon DF and am liking it actually more than my D800. Images are really sharp too - perhaps I have poor technique with super metal pixel cameras! My 35/2 and 28/2 are great with it.
Anyway, I am looking for experience with the 21/2.8 on a DF. Does this lens need all the high resolution to show its best?

Ernie, the 55 thread has been extended to the 85. And technically, no, it is not a Z*. But if the consensus is that, rather than a slow Otus thread, such pics are best incorporated into this one, I am fine with that.

135 APO with a 8mm tube on Sonay A7R II
On the box is written 'Otus 1.4/55 ZF.2-mount' and I think it's a good idea to allow Otus images in this thread.

Actually, the Otus lenses ARE Zx...the ZE/ZF designation is the mount style. The "classic", "Milvus", and "Otus" are lens styles. My Otus boxes say 1.4/55 APO-Distagon ZE Otus and 1.4/85 Apo-Planar ZE Otus. There are also stickers that say Otus 1.4/55 ZE-mount
I was thinking the same thing. It appears that Zeiss's definition of Z* is anything 35mm mounts, including E, F , M. A, and also now discontinued S, K. Thread title is inclusive enough that I think it is appropriate to have Otus or Milvus images. Long ago, Edward even shared ZA images. I see this thread as a place where we celebrate and share various images and experiences from Z* lenses. On the other hand, outs thread serves the purpose of finding beautiful real world images taken by our trusted fellow FM community members with these amazing lenses. They both have their own places and coexist nicely, IMHO.

Ronny,
Your Iceland shots are blowing me away. I am still trying to figure out what that mysterious crystal was from few posts back. What was that?
yeah man... it's blocks of ice. What Ronny has recorded is what you see in real life... those ice usually have CYAN tint or bluish not deep blue [ check the ice on the background it's blue ]... not really sure why. Even for simple rivers there water flows with blue tint.
Some say it's the blue algae... just like the one from blue lagoon.
F_ckin amazing shots man. watch you might see his german shepherd leaping on the those blocks of ice. and yeah the beach sand is pure black.

It's likely that "deep blue" unfortunately from my PP .. was probably careless in my editing and I use the Lee bigstopper and it can get a bit blueish cast in pictures
It's correct that the rivers flows with blue tint etc.
Thanks

Ronny..nothing wrong with your blocks of ice... what i meant was it's not really deep blue which your ice are clearly cyan or faint blue... in short it's the true color.
That river is exactly what you see there really nice man..... damn that zeiss 21mm is asking..."buy me"!!!
