Wayne, do not discount the Milvus 50 f:1.4. Fom what I've seen so far, it looks interesting! Also, according to Zeiss, the Milvus iterations of the Makro Planar tandem are a tad better than the ZE/ZF.2
Hi Philippe, no I am not discounting Milvus 50/1.4.
I am glad Zeiss keeps improving their lineup for dslr.
I have the Contax N 50/1.4 which gives me a nice travel 50 with AF I need it. Doubt i will upgrade to Milvus for either 50 right now as i use my Otus so much more. Need to save for the WA Otus which should be phenomenal with 50MP sensor!
I'm curious about your experience and photos with this lens. There's been a fair amount of discussion, pro and con, about this lens and how it "draws". Looking forward to learning what you think about it.
I also have a "new" copy of the 28/2 - this a zf.2 version. I was taking it in a kit with my D800: 28/2, 85/1.4, and the new Rokinon 50 1.4. Sadly the pending hurricane on our East Coast has caused me to cancel my Fall golf/beach trip. (Even if it doesn't hit directly, golf courses are not fun after flooding.)
Hopefully the sun will reemerge here and I can take some local photos next week...

I haven't had a chance to do much with it yet, like most of the other new lenses, so I haven't formed much of an opinion yet. I did some shooting a few days ago at the city greenhouse and purposely used a variety of lenses, including the 28. I'll post several photos in the next day or two, using the 28, the 35/1.4, and one or two others.
Here are some "greenhouse" images with a variety of ZE lenses. First is the only one I did with 28/2. It doesn't have much pop on the statue, probably because I couldn't get closer to it (pool and fence blocked closer access). It's shot at f/2.
Since I'm coming from 4x5 and the "everything is sharp" train of thought, I'm experimenting with techniques that didn't work well in large format, and having much fun doing it. This is with the 35/1.4 wide open. The flower was blooming behind a lot of other foliage, and I wanted to have the feeling of peering through forest leaves at it. Does it work?
Another bird of paradise flower, this time with 100 Makro at f/2:
Hibiscus with 100 Makro at f/2.5:
Two experiments with focus stacking. Begonia leaves with 100 Makro at f/5.6 (composite of 6-7 images):
