Holy Cow. I just received my Zeiss 100mm f/2 MP ZF.2, and fiddled with it a bit today. This lens may have just ruined every other lens I own.
I've been futzing with manual focus lenses (old Nikkors) for more than a year, even putting them into play for food photography and weddings. I also have a Leica 50 Summicron-R with a Nikon mount I love.
But this Zeiss? FFFFFFUUUUUUUDGE!
I'm already itching to buy the 50mm f/2 MP and the 25mm f/2 D so I have a nice little 3 lens kit for my Nikon camera bodies. Both MP lenses would give me a great bit of flexibility for food photography.
Just when I thought I was done buying lenses for my Nikon cameras - I get hit with a raging case of ZAS!
Jim - Congrats on your 35/2 it is a lens I have hard time letting go even after I got 35/1.4 It is a classic.
craigjohn - Congrats on your 100 MP. this ZAS thing, unfortunately, is never ending. Good thing, to me at least, is that new ones, like 55/1.4 is so out of my 'range', so I don't have to agonize over.
Trench - WELCOME to alt. I have seen many superb shots of yours over in the other side of FM. Please post more ! 135 looks perfect in your hands.
I crawled out of bed just before sunrise to catch some morning light. Taken at the rose fields near my house. The heat has been brutal the past week or so... finding a rose which didn't have heat damaged petals was a challenge.
So.. tried something new to me (don't laugh) .. live view. Who knew it was so useful? ROFL! All the images were taken with the Zeiss 135mm T* F/2. Live view... the tripod.. and cable release were my friends this morning. Love this lens/camera combo!!!
If you would like to see the full res files... just let me know and I'll upload them to Dropbox.
Fun morning out... just trying to get adjusted to the new lens and camera. I think tomorrows adventures will be butterflies.

Cliches set to 11! Parked utility bicycle with basket – low midwinter sun – backlit flowers – Brighton bathing boxes – a bit of "artful" lens flare – this one has everything. I didn't set this up... it was just there.
