Helena, liked a lot of the shallow dof logs.
prosep, 4th dragonfly image is really.
Ronny, nice flowers with 50MP - how you do the "60's colors"?
zhangyue, f/2.8 portrait with 50mm planar is great, I liked the unconventional composition

Great shots Samuli. From the earlier set, I like the first and the two last the most.
Quirang 1,2 and 3 have very strange horizons which I find hard to read. I take it you are very high up in the hills? It looks like you should be below the clouds, but it appears they are below you along with the sea and horizon. I can't fully explain what I mean, but the perspective is confusing me, it's like looking up and down at the same time!
According to GPS (embedded in the EXIF as well) I forgot GPS once again in the booth of the car but looking OS maps via RouteBuddy (highly recommend for UK photography/hiking) I can see I was close here:
+57.633448 -6.270491, which is about 210 meters from sea. The cliffs on left were 450-500m. Clouds may have appeared to hang low due to distance to horizon was so large.

Yes midges are really small blood-sucking flies. They can really be problematic in Scotland. They even have a scale and forecasts for it to inform hikers/travellers :

I heard stories from photographers that could hardly make photos in Scotland in the summer, because they were constantly under attack by those little bastards.
Wow, I didn't feel they are so big problem - maybe my tolerance is quite high, after all I spend 100+ days/night in Finnish forest yearly and I prefer the worst ones; swamps, old forests with thick&moist undergrowth etc.
However I wished that I would have had my radio triggering system with me, in order to trigger camera from few meters to avoid having the midges in picture, but still be able to time the exposure exactly for example burst of water from waterfall optimally (in case waterflow is not constant). Now I used quite a lot 10s times and run away tactics. Personally I didn't have issues with the animals, but when you see them on photos on tiny LCD of camera you have to do some actions to avoid them.
