Thanks Lieutenant Z and a nice set with one of my favorite Zeiss lenses. I like the third one the most but the tilting in the last one is a nice touch.

denoir: Very nice shots there, love the strong complementing colors in the last one!
Bob: I like the last one as well.
Lieutenant Z: Nice street scenes captured
Edward: Strong colors, and on film too!
mpmendenhall: Love the long exposures, there's something serene about them

what type of shooting do you want to do?
the 50MP is less of an acquired taste, IMO.
Street shooting, a little portraits.. Love the Zeiss colors and contrast. As I understand correctly, the 50MP has better bokeh than the 50M? Is this correct?

I wouldn't know, the only one I own is the ZM 50. The 50MP has a very similar MTF so I would assume it acts mostly the same although that is conjecture; I have seen the design drawings and the MP is considerably more complicated than the ZM. At any rate, the ZM50 has rather good bokeh as far as I am concerned, here is a shot with a rather lot of it:
Liutenant Z, thank you!
Nice 85P pics! Have you ever compared it to other 85mm lens? I already have 85L Canon, and am considering replacing it with 85P.
Btw, some pics from Manza and Yokohama, Japan. All with 5DII.
Joakim - (From page 495)Beautiful juxtaposition of stillness and movement ( Ice and water ) #1 is my fav. I also really like the 'Stair and shdows ' Great find !
JSPHOTOS - Congrats on your 1.4/35 and very nice Duck shot ! I also enjoy the slow shutter shot with 21, 'St. Paul UMC '. Great movement in sky.
Lieutenant - Gorgeous sky with lamp shots. (page 495 ) From the recent set, the last one, a man with stack of chair, is a great shot captureing the weight of the person.
zhangyue - I enjoy your reportage family shots. Very nicely composed. I feel like I can hear them ! #1 shot, imho, is my most favorite.
Ulff - Strong juxtaposition of Bolts / Coal (?) / Bolts. Great texture.
edgately - Congrats on your 21 and 1.4/35 ! Looking forward to see your shots. Extrior lamp shot ( #3 ) with 100MP is my favorite one.
te40 - I like the B/W version more than the color one. Great sky !!!
alkanphel - Nice dragonfly shot !
Gregg - Congrats on your 50MP. I am very curious to hear your findings. I have noticed that I am much less drawn to the 50MP rendering ( from the web size viweing. I don't own the lens. ) I'd love to hear what you think about 50MP. Great portrait of your dad. 2.8 is already quite crisp !
Luka - Wow, it has been a while to see your photos here. So wonderful to see your works. Great set. I really like the #2 and #4. Beautiful color.
reza187 - Great sets from Japan. The snow scape shot is captivating. Something about it makes me stair at the photo.
Bob - Very nice set !! #3 is my favorite. Very nice PP too ! Also from the recent set, #2 is my pick on the composition. Both are beautiful though.
Edward - Fantastic color again. Must be Provia ! #1, #3 of the first set, and #1 of the second set stood out to me.
mpmendenhall - Good job on the night shots. Light on the water on #2 is great, so as the shadow on the last one.

Thanks. I have the Nikkor 85 1.8 afd and the Zeiss Planar is much better in every ways even if the Nikkor is sharper around 5.6/8 notably for close-ups

Thank you Luka. This time it was Pro 160C negative film. I am trying to use up my remaining few rolls so that I can concentrate on Provia.
Ah, I see. Do you process all your films ? Color must be quite tricky. Regarding film, I love what I see, but when I think about my closet with the pile of slides and negatives from the past, I am less inclined to go that way. I still have Contax Aria, but I converted lenses, so it also takes extra effort.

I have the film developed at a local lab, then do the scanning at home. It doesn't take much more time than working on a raw file, and the color is not manipulated. I leave it as it comes out from the scanning software (silverfast). I used to have a couple of Arias and several other Contax bodies. I went the same route as you and converted all lenses to Canon. Sold everything in 2009 and several alt forum members are happy owners
